Caroline Pearl Lyon was born in Los Angeles County. Life started out with great difficulty for Caroline. At six months of age her parents divorced, thus leaving Caroline and her five siblings to be raised in hard conditions. Raised in an abusive foster home, Caroline experienced the trauma of having her beloved brother murdered and her sister die of a heart attack. Caroline Lyon could have given up, but instead she stood tall and pressed forward. At age nineteen Caroline married her husband Richard, the beloved man she has now been married to for 47 years. The Lyons have two grown sons. Raised in the Church of Christ, Caroline got a theological wake-up call one day, and left that denomination for the more fruitful fields of the Baptist Church. It was there that she learned the real story of Jesus Christ, as well as the Holy Spirit. While her husband Richard was out bringing home the paycheck, Caroline was a proud housewife and mom. However, out of her life experiences of being abused, Caroline soon began to take care of other abused and molested children. Over the years, Caroline has taken in over 200 children, caring and loving them to wholeness. Caroline Lyon truly personifies the Gospel and the love of God and only eternity will reveal the tremendous impact that this mother of many will have had on America's youth. "God has given me and my husband the Ministry of Helps," says Mrs. Lyon. While working as a staff writer for California Christian News, Caroline attends Mission Valley Christian Fellowship and plans on writing a book about her experiences in raising over 200 foster children.
